It’s official: Dinesh, Dipika Pallikal engaged

Their affair was a well-known secret among sporting circles.
And now, it’s official! Cricketer Dinesh Karthik and squash champion Dipika Pallikal got engaged in a hush-hush ceremony at a star hotel in Chennai last week.
When contacted, Dipika’s mother confirmed the engagement. “Yes, they got engaged recently, but we wanted to keep it strictly a family affair. Dinesh had to leave for a cricket match immediately after that.Dipika also left for Australia the day after the engagement — that’s perhaps why things have been a little quiet.”
We hear that the wedding will take place sometime in 2015, because Dipika will participate in many international assignments next year. In an earlier interview, the squash champ stated that she knew Dinesh for a long time and that they train under the same fitness coach.
